Policy and Economic Impact Studies

The Office of Policy Analysis reports on current economic trends and policy issues in the State of New Mexico and surrounding areas. The Policy Analysis team undertakes programmatic research and responds to specific requests for information by business, government, and university leaders formulating policy. This research informs policy-makers and the public on critical issues to promote more effective public policies. Policy Analysis brings together the research expertise of faculty and students in a variety of disciplines. The Policy Analysis team provides relevant data on state and regional economic indicators, including current and projected demographics, employment, industry, and labor force statistics. Policy analysis also supports businesses and economic development stakeholders in the analysis of workforce requirements, availability, and identification of education/training opportunities.

Policy and Economic Impact Studies

Economic impact studies are performed in response to specific requests. These analyses span a wide variety of topics of interest, such as tax and health care policy, and examine the impact of a change in policy on economic indicators.
